Mazen co-founded Tumi Law Firm to put his comprehensive understanding and experience of corporate and commercial law in the hands of TLF clients.
As an experienced legal advisor and qualified lawyer before all courts in Libya, he can provide clients with the best insight and guidance. As a dual Libyan American citizen with full rights of audience before all courts, including the Supreme Court as a licensed specialist in corporate and commercial law, Mazen has served as Managing Partner at TLF for the past 15 years.
Since joining TLF, Mazen has had a high degree of involvement in a number of high-profile projects, including:
• Advised and negotiated an international acquisition transaction of oil and gas companies in the Middle East and Africa that were valued collectively at $150 million for the U.S. Energy Group.
• Represented the Libyan Long Term Investment Portfolio in a transaction valued at 2.2 billion Euro.
• Acted for and worked with international partners such as Allen & Overy, DLA Piper Baker & McKenzie LLP, Dentons LLP, King and Wood, Holman Fenwick Willan LLP, Pinsent Masons LLP, Faegre Baker Daniels LLP, Two Birds, and Altamimi.
• Full rights of audience before the Supreme Court as a licensed specialist in corporate and commercial law.
• Provided dispute resolution on a series of public/private agreements between the Libyan government and an international engineering and construction company.
• Islamic Finance Project; a global financial institution based in Bahrain, in the creation of a Master Murabaha agreement.
